Whether you are at home, work or out in public, being around an unexpected fire can be scary. So, here’s what you should in the event of a fire no matter where you are!

If you are the first person to discover a fire, if you do not feel safe to battle it you should always sound the fire alarm and call the fire brigade. Sounding the alarm means everyone will know there is a fire and will head to safety.

If the fire is large, you should always keep as low to the ground as possible. This is because smoke rises, so the fresher air will be closest to the ground. This minimises the risk of damage to your lungs.

Moving away from the fire is the best thing you can do for your own safety. Head to the designated meet point to ensure your safety.
